The Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) is a measure of how long a product or solution can operate before encountering its first breakdown under ‘normal’ working conditions. Analyzing the MTTF provides helpful information about when systems or products might fail, empowering our team and our customers to make more informed decisions about maintenance, investments, and overall system longevity. As a result, ICEqube is consistently striving to surpass industry standards and deliver high-quality products across many sectors.
The life expectancy of a system, which utilizes many different components, is difficult to determine without actual field or ‘simulated’ controlled laboratory conditions. Below is a list of the major components used in the manufacture of ICEqube air conditioning systems and the life expectancy under ‘normal’ operating conditions, and are given only as an estimation and not as any warranty or guaranty:
Major Components | Estimated Life Expectancy |
---|---|
Controllers | 410 Years |
Transformers | 30 Years |
Control Relay Contacts | 100K Cycles |
Refrigeration System | 10 Years |
Blowers | 10 Years |
Based on the most recent data of cooling system shipments, reported field failures, assuming 70 percent commissioned and 12 hours per day of operations, the 4-year average MTTF calculates to 98,310 hours (22.4 years).
Naturally, the operating environment will affect the life expectancy of an ICEqube cooling system, or any of its components. Operation in corrosive environments or extreme conditions of moisture, heat, dust, or other contaminants will accelerate the deterioration of components and reduce life expectancy.
An estimated 25+ year life is possible with proper maintenance, dependent on environment and use.
